If you are antsy to start preparing, try a mock test, to get a feeling for what taking this kind of test is like.
Fall: Take the PSAT.
Spring: Try both a practice/dianostic SAT test and practice/diagnostic ACT test.
Choose ONE and only ONE test to prepare for, and start preparing.
Summer, Fall, and Spring: Prepare on your own. Attend a weekend bootcamp and do 1-on-1, in home tutoring.
